2017 Resource Post
Have questions about the Prompts? You might be thinking, "Do you consider a selkie a human?" or "Does Gamora count as a 'character of color'?" We purposefully don't have a list of definitions to go with our prompts so that the prompts can remain open to interpretation. People can be so creative in how they interpret things and we want to encourage that.
However, if you find yourself looking at a square and have no idea what it means/what to do with it, leave a comment and we can let you know the original intent behind that prompt.
You can also check out the resource post from previous years:

Reminder: Once you get your card, you can start posting podfics right away. :D

Radio Play Style: Does this mean recording a work that is entirely script/without narrative, or using homemade SFX, or using SFX to build a full soundscape?
Boy slash/Femslash: (this is probably because I'm a fandom baby, but) Do either of these imply a rating, or are they simply referring to the tagged relationship?

Regarding Radio Play style, either of those options would be totally fine. When the prompt was made, it was for mimicking by the store of radio plays (with the dialog-heavy or dialog-only script and soundscape (with whatever SFX you feel like using--homemade or otherwise) but we definitely encourage you to take the prompts and run with them.
For the boyslash/femslash prompts there is zero implication of rating. It can be everything from unresolved sexual tension and innocent crushes to steamy sex. So, no X-rated stories are required :)

So, I have a couple of questions...
Could I fill a square with a WIP? Or like, the first chapter of a multi-chaptered pod?
I mean, I've done it last year with some series, and one could try to argue that the chapters are just like installments of a series. Yeah, I'm aware that this is bs and I will completely understand if you tell me that no, a multi-chaptered fic and a series are not the same at all, and get off your lazy butt Anna and finish your podfic.
Also, can I somehow justify filling my "crossover/fusion" square with a college AU?
Hear me out: it's a RL fusion. Or better yet, a RPF crossover featuring me as a PottedPlant!SI and they're really enrolled at my university! ... Also bs, I know. Just tell me if I'm stretching it too far and I'll change it for FREE SPACE or something.

For the first question, prompts are filled by completed podfics, so I think it depends a bit on how the story is set up. Some chapters of fics can totally work as a stand-alone story, and if that's the case, than you could definitely use it to fill a prompt. Basically, if you consider the podfic to be complete, than it's complete regardless of the original story. If you are intending to complete the whole story, than I would wait to use it until you are finished.
The second question is more wishy washy to me. We have an AU square, so you could totally use a cheat to swap for an AU. That said, I once filled a square for "Read Deadpan" by forcing a friend to write me a fic called "Deadpan" so that I didn't have to actually read in a deadpan manner. As someone who fully admits to cheating at podfic_bingo in a tongue-in-cheek way, we mods are not going to judge someone who chooses to interpret a prompt in a ... creative way.
So... how was that for two totally non-answers :D Basically, if you feel like you're filling the prompts, than you are! If you feel like you have completed your podfic, than you have!

Second, I know "fluff" usually implies some sort of romance, but I just recorded a five times fic where one chapter is literally two bros who are not in a romance with one another AT ALL shoe shopping for the partner of one bro and it feels really fluffy to me, but also it's not specifically fluff. Are there accepted definitions of what's "fluff" here?

And fluff totally doesn't need to be romantic. If it's fluffy to you, then it's fluff. The story you mentioned totally sounds fluffy :D Light like cotton candy is how I think of fluff.
Hope this helps!
