Wow. This was really intense! I'm not familiar with the canon at all, but your reading totally sucked me in. The steadiness of the pacing seemed to enhance the intensity even more. Also, kudos on reading the 2nd POV. I find that 2nd POV can sometimes throw me out of a story, but in your hands, I had no problems at all!
